Inspired by popular online groups, Etude Challenge is not a competition, but an opportunity for students to challenge themselves to learn (or relearn) an etude and create a shareable video recording.

Recordings will be shared in a private Google Classroom, giving students the opportunity to learn from each other and gain inspiration to practice and improve. Feedback and support will be provided throughout the semester by moderators, Aoi Shinagawa and Lance Suzuki.

Challenge Rules:

  • Etude Challenge is open to students of participating Partner Schools. All levels of experience are welcome.

  • Different levels will be offered for each challenge. Students should pick one level per challenge. (See a preview of the first challenge below)

  • Share your etude video anytime during the challenge period.

  • Use the classroom to ask questions and offer support for your fellow flutists.

  • This is meant to be a safe and supportive space for students to learn. There is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying.

Register for the Challenge:

You will receive an invitation to our Google Classroom after registering.
