Our 3rd Annual Flute Festival will feature flute choir rehearsals, workshops, a masterclass with the University of Hawaii’s Sabrina Saiki-Mita and a public concert, “Around the World.”

Jill Guillermo-Togawa (Alexander Technique Honolulu) will lead an exploratory course that introduces the philosophy and basic principles of the Alexander Technique and how they relate to flute playing.

Take a Chance: Terry Riley's "In C"

An exploration of Terry Riley’s iconic “In C” (1964), a composition of 53 musical fragments for an indeterminate number of instruments that launched the minimalist movement in music. This workshop is FREE and open to all, including non-members and non-flutists. Register online to receive music in advance. Co-presented with the Hawaii Music Teachers Association.

Festival Flute Choir

Perform with the Hawaii Flute Choir in our Festival Concert: “Around the World” on March 31st, 2019 at 4pm in Orvis Auditorium at the University of Hawaii. Open to flutists of all ages and abilities. Participation is FREE for all HFS members and included with Festival Pass purchases. Online registration is required.

 

Solo/Chamber Performers

We are accepting applications from solo and chamber music performers of all ages through March 10, 2019 at 11:59 HST. Participation is FREE for all HFS members and included with Festival Pass purchases.

 

Tickets & Passes

Admission to all Festival Events and participation in the Festival Flute Choir program is FREE for all HFS members. Non-members may purchase an All-Access Festival Pass (includes flute choir participation) or tickets to individual events.
